Navroz celebrations feature a variety of traditional customs and activities. On the eve of the New Year, known as Pateti, Parsis engage in self-reflection and remorse for their previous actions in order to begin the new year fresh. On New Year’s Day, they often visit the Agiary (fire temple), clean their homes, put on new clothes, and make traditional Parsi delicacies such as Dhansak, Berry Pulao, and Patra Nu Machhi.

Navroz is not only a time for cheerful celebrations, but also for community building and philanthropic initiatives. Parsis frequently exchange presents and pleasantries, and the phrase “Navroz Mubarak” is commonly heard as a New Year’s wish.
